TOWN HALL MEETING

Notice is hereby given that a Town Hall meeting is scheduled to be held by the Brooks County Board of Commissioners on Thursday September 12, 2024, at 6:00 pm, at the Brooks County Courthouse in the Courtroom located at 100 E. Screven Street, Quitman, Georgia. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to comment on their concerns/issues regarding solar in Brooks County.

Persons with special needs relating to disability access or foreign language should contact the County Clerk at Brooks County Commission Office at (229) 263-5561. Persons with hearing disabilities may consider using the Georgia Relay Service at 1-800-255-0135. All persons are invited to attend the town hall meeting.

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING NOTICE

Brooks County Board of Elections & Registrations

Logic and Accuracy Testing and preparation of Election Equipment to be used in the November 5, 2024 General Election

Testing will begin at 9:00 AM on Thursday, September 12TH, 2024. Logic and Accuracy (L&A) testing will continue until it is fully completed.

L&A Testing and Preparation of Election Equipment is open to the public and will be held at the Brooks County Board of Elections during office hours.

Brooks County Election Office is located at 610 S. Highland Rd, Quitman, GA 31643

County Approves FY 2024-25 Annual Budget.

The Brooks County Board of Commissioners, during their Sept. 3, 2024 commission meeting, approved the annual budget for FY 2024-25. This $29.3M financial plan consists of many projects including new road and mowing equipment, road resurfacing, new animal service facility, renovation of the county jail, renovation of the Washington St. gym, replacement Sheriff vehicles, parking improvements at the Ag Center, 911 Center upgrades, culvert/road grading improvements, fire department equipment and improvements, among other needed items.
